I finally had my husband put in a garden this year. It's been years since I last had a garden and I missed it. We put in acorn, zucchini and yellow squash, tomatoes (31 plants), green beans and onions.
We received some free cucumbers and onions the other day and I put up bread and butter pickles and put up some canned tomatoes. I'd forgotten how long you have to stay on your feet to can vegetables and I was tired ( and my feet, ankles and back were sore) after all the work. Canning might not be a typical workout but it is hard work and now that I've turned 50 it's going to take me awhile to get my strength back to where it use to be. I'm proud of what I accomplished, and the jars look so pretty.
It's 5.00 o'clock in the morning right now and I just got off of my treadmill and I'm feeling good about accomplishing my workout for the day. I hope today will be a good day for getting things done.
