Cookies sitting in the kitchen.
I know they are there. It was 10:30AM and I wanted one or two or three. I started heading to the kitchen and I thought....I wonder if I can distract myself here? I don't need a cookie. I would gobble it down, have another and then I'd be playing catch up all day. Why don't I do 15 minutes, just 15 minutes, of yoga?
I did just that! It worked. That cookie doesn't even sound good right now. Yay ME!
On my walk this morning I focused on keeping my speed up. Since I have slight plantar fasciitis I don't walk as fast as I could. That aggravates that darn left heel. But I kept focusing on moving as quickly as I could. Walked my 3.5 miles in 62 minutes. That's not bad.
So the tricks of the trade I've used already today are: 1) Distraction (for good not evil), 2) Consistency and mindfulness and 3) keep moving!
