Booker starred Richard Griego as an ex-cop from LAPD. He worked as a private detective for a Japanese company at their US companies investigating insurance claims. He wasn't a good employee, as he despised authority, and often took jobs for friends and family members when he should have been working for the company. This was a one season spin off of 21 Jump Street, and aired from Sept 89 to May 90. Of course, this was back in the days when a season was more than 20 episodes - now it seems like 13 episodes is a season.

Title: "Hot in the City". Performed By: "Billy Idol"

I will move with the beat now.
I'm a chain 'round an A-bomb
I'm a ribbon in the heat now

Hot in the city, hot in the city tonight, (tonight)
Hot in the city, hot in the city tonight, (tonight)
Hot in the city, hot in the city tonight, (tonight)

Hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot!

I barely remember the name of the show but never saw it. Had completely forgotten it until you mentioned it. I do remember the song but from other sources.
