Sugar And Hubby

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

My hubby has a big sweet tooth and that has lead to problems with my diet. If he asks me to buy some thing sweet I will do it to please him. Lately it has been cookies and ice cream. I try to just have a small amount but when I see hubby going back for more I am not to far behind him. He loves to have some thing sweet in the evening after dinner and than just before bed. I have gotten in to the habit of eating sweets at that time too.

Hubby has cancer and cancer thrives on sugar, I have been telling hubby that for some time now. Yesterday his doctor said that he should not eat sugar so hubby came home and asked me to help him by not buying anymore sugary treats. What? Isn't this what I have been telling him all along? Some times you just have to have a doctor tell you before it sinks in.

We have not been eating our fruits like we were at the start of the season. Today I am going to the farmers market and will stock up on sweet ripe fruits for hubby's and my sweet tooth. Fruit sugar is a lot better for you and doesn't react like refined sugar with the cancer so it is safe.

So true! Someone else has to tell hubbies what we've been telling them and, like magic, it sinks in.

I'm happy to hear you're going back to sweet fruit as the healthy choice for sweets.

    emoticon for the doctor!
Yes...hubbys never listen to wives. I can tell DH something over and over and it does no good, but if a doctor...or sometimes just a friend, tells him the same thing...he comes home and tells me, just as if it is a new concept! emoticon
