Did you eat your frog today? Better yet, eat an elephant!

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

What is the best way to stop procrastinating about some big, ugly chore facing you?

ANSWER:Eat an Elephant !

Q: How do you eat an elephant?

A: One bite at a time.

If you feel overwhelmed by a project or task, break it down into bite size pieces. The end result may feel daunting, but each piece should feel very manageable by itself. If the bites still feel overwhelming continue to break them down until taking the first step, or the next step, by itself feels doable.

This is from an article on procrastination.

The "eat a frog" idea means get that chore done! That chore you don't want to do.

Maybe taking just one bite at a time will help get that whole, big, ugly chore done sooner!

Amen to that! When I deep "clean" a room, I break it down into sections and then
"attack" it a bit at a time until it is done!

There is a book called 'Eat the Frog'.
It is great and helped put things in perspective for me.
Just one question...
How many calories are in frogs and elephants?

Thank goodness there are no elephants on the food emoticons!

"Eat the biggest frog in the pond and nothing worse will happen to you all day" is I believe how the quote goes.
