Just went to Big Pine Lakes for some hiking.
Nine beautiful glacial lakes high up the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, nestled beneath 14,000 foot peaks. Reached by a trail that climbs along the North Fork of Pine Creek, past a waterfall, then starts a loop round six of the lakes. Spur paths lead to the other lakes, and to the base of Palisade Glacier
We had wanted to eat at Alabama Hills Café where you can always count on a great breakfast or lunch but they close at 2:00pm so we missed our chance.
We ended up having the most awesome sandwiches at Shat's Bakery in Bishop.
The sourdough bread is to die for good. Try the half sandwich or get a full and have it for dinner they are that big and worth it.
We had a good dosage of hiking, lakes, laughing and food.
