Spark Mail and themes

This morning I found my blog about "The importance of PLAY" featured in the daily mail. What blew me away though, was what I perceived as a common thread through all three featured blogs:

SPARKGUY himself was featured with this one about his current streak and getting through challenges, showing that we all have families and are all human and have to *do* something about those tough times!

Then my Spark Friend BROOKLYN_BORN was featured with her blog about going the extra mile for her community and church, and upping her game to do so.

Mine rounded out the three in that e-mail.

The common theme that I saw is that family and community keep us going as humans! Spark for me serves as an extension of my family and community. It's a safe place where those who self-select to read and listen come to pull themselves up when they are flagging a bit, or to write to share their excitement over a new goal. I think it's so important that those who are doing well share that it's not always easy, share what gets them pumped up.

Because each of us is different, but at the same time, we are alike. The paradox of humanity! I have to say I love you all. emoticon We're in this boat (LIFE) together, like it or not.

And LIFE is good. It's so much better when I'm fit. Every bit of effort, discipline and training has been WORTH it. Life is at its best when I have the chance, a bit at a time (so I'm not overwhelmed), to get to know the kindred spirits out there on their own journeys. Consistently (not perfectly), consciously (mindfully), and creatively (opportunistically) making choices that support a healthy life, I refresh my GRATITUDE for every single day!

Spark on, my friends, and Namaste.

Congrats on the well-deserved award for a delightful blog. Yes, SP is an extension of my friends & family, but SP is the only place I get to communicate with others who understand what it is like to change your life and embrace a healthy lifestyle. Although, come to think of it, my nephew is getting there!! -Marsha

Spark does serve as an extension of family and friends. I am truly amazed at the caring and warmth that people give on this site. I agree with Watermellen. That was a warm and moving blog you wrote.
I liked both of the other blogs as well. I was interested to see that the tiny step of walking faster to the hospital helped the Spark Guy and that he really kept some small step of exercise daily during his troubled times.
I had a difficult argument with my sister and literally walked off my anger for three hours. I believe in the power of exercise for health.

You are well appreciated here for all of your warm compassionate comments.
I also agree that it is important to share that this journey is not always easy.
Life is better when you are fit! emoticon

I noticed that too! We really do think alike. If only I could get over my fear of open water swimming, I'd follow your tri example.

So glad to see your blog featured within that stellar grouping -- both of which I also "liked"!

What a warm and moving blog you've written today as well: right to the heart of things, right from the heart!!
