Tired tonight...

Friday, July 11, 2014

Round 2 of TOM is still kicking my butt a little bit. The cramping and back pain haven't been as bad as they were last night, but they're definitely still there. And my head is pounding, which I'm guessing is a hormonal thing at the moment. In spite of it, though... I'm still hanging in there today!

I started off the day well by getting up a little early. I knew I had to be ready to go to that class thingy with my friend this evening, and I wanted to be sure I had time to get everything done before it was time for that. So I woke up about an hour earlier than normal, and I wasn't even painfully sleepy. I actually slept fairly well last night. So I got up, got food in the slow cooker, then made eggs and toast and had some cherries for breakfast.

Next up came the hardest task of the day: Dragging myself to the community center to workout. I REALLY didn't wanna. But I negotiated with myself for about half an hour, reminded myself of what I said last night... that if I was struggling with the workout, I could cut it short... and got up and got dressed and went. Turned out that getting dressed and getting there was harder than the workout. I did a full 30 minute workout, much to my surprise. I was exhausted when I was done, and contemplated crawling to get back upstairs, but I made it. Then I rewarded myself with a nice cool shower, and then a big glass of water.

After I did some stuff on SP and a few other things, it was time to make lunch. I had pinto beans cooking in the slow cooker, and I used some of them to make vegetarian tacos. I made mine into a big taco salad and only had a couple of shells eaten as chips. Dh made his into actual tacos. I sauteed up some bell peppers to go in them too. And I gotta say, that was surprisingly good! Some beans with some taco seasoning are pretty darn delicious! I decided to try it in the interest of trying to cut back on our grocery bill, and I'm glad I did. That meal is gonna go in the regular rotation!

I finished eating and talked to my mom for a few minutes, then it was time to get dressed. I actually took a couple extra minutes to work on my appearance before I went. A little makeup and stuff. Amazing how much better that makes me feel. Then my friend picked me up and we went to the seminar/class/thingy. This one was kind of boring though. It was all about gluten free eating, and since I don't have a gluten sensitivity, the information wasn't particularly helpful. I did do really well with the samples. She had gluten free bread, and my friend and I split one slice of that so we could get a taste. Then I had one gluten free cracker and one gluten free tortilla chip, and that was it. The crackers were soooooo good, I could easily have eaten the whole box. But I refrained.

When that was over, we browsed around in the store where it was held a little bit. My friend picked up a few groceries, and I got some all natural body wash. Then I did what I said I wasn't going to do... got food from a restaurant... but I made a good choice and had grilled chicken and chili. I was starving by the time we finished up at the store, and also not feeling spectacular, so I decided to pick up some healthy food to come home and eat instead of trying to cook something.

All in all, it has been a pretty good day. I've stayed on plan, exercised, and drank my water. Also, I managed to not wake up and eat last night.

Tomorrow we're going to a store having a 20% off sale to hopefully get some new earbuds/headphones, and maybe some other stuff. That's all we have planned for the day, other than making some food.

For now, I think I am first going to give in and take something for this headache. Then I'm gonna read and relax for a while. And hopefully hit the bed relatively early tonight... and sleep all night!

Hope everyone had an awesome Friday and is getting their weekend off to a great start!

Woo hoo! Sounds like a good day in spite of the slow start. BTW, if you and hubby like sloppy joes, lentils are a delicious substitute for ground beef!
