Joining the 21st Century

Wednesday, July 09, 2014

I sent my first text today. It was successful. WooHoo. So I sent a second one. No problem. The text helped me meet up with my niece for a great 6 mile run-walk-run this eve.

I added all my contacts from my old cell phone to the new smart phone. Appeared successful, but I can't say no problem. I accidentally called 1000 miles away and left background noise on voice mail. Luckily ONEKIDSMOM didn't mind too much. We ended up having a good conversation. Kind of serendipity. Made me smile!

I took a picture with my phone today. If I can figure out how, I'll post it here:

Hey, I think I did it! It's Gwen!!

So, keeping grandkids keeps me young. Running keeps me young. Eating right, staying active, drinking water, sleeping enough, all help keep me young. Joining the 21st century by learning to use a smart phone? Not sure yet if it will also help keep me young or really age me!

Wow, are we on the same wavelength? "Joining the 21st century" was exactly my first text, sent just one week ago with my new smart phone (Galaxy Mini).
I like the speech to text capability - very accurate

Oh the SmartPhone keeps your brain active figuring things out on it, so I would say it does fit in the keeps you young category.

NOW you can download the SP apps too :D

It was great to hear your voice! Even if it wasn't originally intentional! emoticon

Great job with the photo upload... true confessions to the comment readers... I thought Gwen had got hold of SLENDERELLA61's phone and pushed the call button when I got that original ring and listened to the voice mail. Marsha and I had a good laugh over that.

BUT... learning *does* keep us young. Thank goodness we have members of the now generation in our lives to guide us! Spark on! emoticon

Love the picture. Hang in there. You will learn what you want to use, and some of the features, you will be blissfully ignorant about. Enjoy!

You are keeping young also by challenging your brain to figure out how to use those new fangled gadgets!

YOU did a great job! Also.. with a smart phone it doesn't matter if you call your next door neighbor or 1,000 miles away. All costs the same and probably part of your plan. Keep learning.. it keeps you young!

emoticon I have learned a lot about my pc the past two months learning my way around SP. Also my smart phone, but still have a way to go there. Grandkids are great. I have 11 and 8 great grandchildren. Much success to you on SP. emoticon

If you are like me one minute you will love it, the next when you can't figure out how to get it to work you will be saying @#%! about it.
