Finally motivated!

Saturday, July 05, 2014

I joined this site last year. I had full intentions of getting healthy and losing weight. Needless to say, it didn't happen and I stopped using this site.

Around 45 days ago, my wife and I decided that our family was going to eat healthy. So I started tracking calories and stop buying food high in sugar, sodium, and fats.

We have a small store in our town that sells boxes of fresh (organic only) produce. It was a great deal so we started getting the boxes every week. It made meal planning fun, as we had to plan our meals around the fresh produce.

With us eating much more healthy, I went and saw my doctor and told him that I had plans of losing a large amount of weight fairly quickly. He checked me out and said that I was healthy enough to take a quick loss in weight. He told me to come back in 30 days for follow up.

Well, 30 days later, I went in to see him again. He was amazed that I lost 37 pounds in one month. My metabolism responded amazingly well to the change in lifestyle. I was limiting calories and walking daily.

That appointment was on 6/30 and I weighed in at 313. It is now 7/5 and I weigh 303. I lost ten pounds in less than a week! I am still amazed how eating a little less and eating better, has kicked started my metabolism and is sawing the fat off me!

I have the main goal of hitting 190 Lbs, but I have more realistic goals as I lose the weight. I call them check points. My next check point is 299. Dropping below 300 is huge for me, but it's not where I'm going to stop. 270, 250, 230, and 210 are the rest of my check points.

If everything goes right, which it will, you will see a new me by the middle of next year. I'm very proud of myself, but I'm more proud of my family for joining me on this wild ride, and changing our eating lifestyle.
