Yesterday we had lunch at Sweet Marie's which is a gluten free bakery/restaurant. They serve breakfast and lunch only. Lunch was "not bad" because although the food was "not bad," I think the portions were a little small. My husband is vegetarian so he had a "baked" fried rice, which consisted of brown rice with carrots and ginger. His portion was definitely "too small" for a man's appetite.
I had a rainbow platter which consisted of black quinoa, kale, asparagus, spaghetti squash, beans, beets, and red peppers with a vinagrette dressing. My hubby ate some of my platter.
Daughter had a turkey meatloaf with the "baked" fried rice. I had a taste of the meatloaf, and it was okay. I'm not a fan of ground turkey so I wouldn't order that. She ate all of her lunch!
Normally when we go out to lunch, we always have left overs. That goes to say something....
We also ordered some pastries to bring back to the office. We had a blueberry muffin, a banana chocolate chip muffin, snickerdoodles, and a double chocolate chip brownie. These treats were okay, but since I can tolerate "regular" pastries, I would prefer non-gluten free stuff. One of our coworkers follows a gluten free diet, so she was happy.
Will we go back there? The answer is, "sorry, we don't think so."
