Many of my SparkFriends know that I was engaged to BRITT831 for 2 years and that even though we lived on separate sides of the country were still trying to make it work. Well, as of 3 weeks ago, we are no longer engaged and have decided to go a month of no contact to see where we are emotionally. It has been extremely hard, but in order for the both of us to be happy we need to take this step. There’s way too much going on in both of our lives that needs to be addressed that was bringing our relationship down, making it a co-dependent type of situation which isn’t healthy for either of us. We’re both strong women and I know it’s for the best.
Have a great long weekend friends and thank you for always encouraging me. I have a great weekend ahead of me filled with LOTS of friends, the beach and BBQ!
Romans 8: 7 "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."
I loved reading your Blog and you seem like you are on the right track. I like it that you realize you don't have to be perfect! That is HUGE with me - I used to have the wrong idea that everything was "all or nothing." I like the way you "rate" different things and you seem to be very open and honest. This is a good thing! It sounds like you are looking forward to the holiday! I am too. Just about every year I have a get-together and friends come over to hang out, to eat and to watch the fireworks. My house is very close to where our town's fireworks are set off. I just finished making some cupcakes. I don't really do too much in terms of food - just hamburgers and hotdogs because people bring so much and then I am faced with all this wonderful food looking at me from the fridge! You also sound very realistic about your relationship. A long-distance relationship is a very difficult thing to maintain. Taking a step back and re-evaluating is a good idea. Take care - enjoy the holiday and Keep Sparking!!! 997 days ago
