What's on my plate (photo blog)

What is on my plate? One of the things that I've been working on since June is trying to have at least 75% of the food on my plate be fresh, unprocessed foods - heavy on the freggies.

This first picture was dinner last night. I grilled burgers. So on my plate is a burger on a bakery fresh bun. I loaded the bun up with a slice of tomato, slice of onion, a little mustard, some pickles and lettuce. I added to that some additional slices of tomatoes and some Rainier cherries.

If you haven't had Rainier cherries, they are the only cherries that I'm fond of. They taste more like peaches than cherries. Unfortunately they are only grown in one place and have a short season.

So how did I do? The only processed foods were the bun, pickles and mustard.

I earned my smiley face!

Tonight, the weather was iffy, so I baked pork chops instead of grilling them.



In addition to the pork chops, I added fresh green beans with new potatoes and fresh broccoli with a little cheese. The only processed food was the cheese. Everything else was fresh.

Definite smiley face again!



What could be better?

OK.....the kitten wins.
