One Big Project

Tuesday, July 01, 2014

So painting this tiny patch on the ceiling is turning into major project. I knew it would be, but I'm actually doing it now, no longer thinking of when the time will come when I get into this project. Today was big day 2 of the kitchen makeover. Took me hours to scrub the walls and floors behind the stove and fridge as well as on top of all the cabinets. I certainly need a much better 6 month plan to clean that messy build up from cooking. Now that I have outstanding cleaners I'll keep up with that maintenance better. I'm also going to be getting a new filter for the fridge and learning to clean the coils too. In for a penny.

Oh yeah we're still painting. The ceiling and all of the walls, including redoing the accent wall. Same color, just going to sand it and repaint it. Now the entire kitchen will have a fresh coat of paint and then it's going to be cleaned top to bottom and put back together. Empty all the shelves and wipe them all clean. Once the rest of the apartment is clean I'll be back in full time and ready to do the closets. I already made 2 big garbage bags for donations. I have a lot of laundry to do and a lot more clothes to go through.

Sage, I plan to buy a sage bundle and banish all the left over residue and negativity after I've put the closets back together. There's a lot I plan to throw out and it's not going to be easy but it's necessary. Time to look forward in a very real way. Day 2 of the project was great. After that disaster cleaning I got the sanding done and then got help with the first round of patching. Tomorrow I'll sand again and then round 2 of patching gets done. Then it's off to clean my steel shelving unit, buy wheels for it and then buy paint which is $5 off at Home Depot this week. Perfect timing, just saw the commercial for it today. That takes care of day 3. Thursday will be an all out painting day all day. So will Friday and Saturday. Staying on target with the project. This is going to be a good reboot.
