Do not eat in front of the computer. That was one of those quick goals I chose when I joined. I never knew this would be such a difficult task. I was unaware of how little attention I gave my snacks and lunch. When I consciously attempted to step away and take my snack/meal in a calm and focused way, I found myself falling back into the old habit almost mindlessly. I am anxious to see what happens when I no longer keep my lunch bag at my desk. To be continued...

    Thanks to this blog, I stepped away from sparking to eat my oatmeal. Had to
when I realized all I had done was move to the TV.

    CKELSHIP, you are not rambling at all! If we don't solicit ideas on our own behalf, then who will?
I am putting reading into this desk/computer category simply because I find myself sitting in front of an empty plate with very little awareness of the act of eating. If I am distracted from the actual eating part, then it stands to reason that I did not truly enjoy my meal. That is how I am approaching this. Others may feel differently, but the fact that I find this a terribly hard habit to break makes me want to work at it.
P.S., I don't know if I am replying correctly to your comment. I hope you get to read this.

    So true! its really hard to break habits - especially ones like eating at your desk instead of going into the lunch or break room. The best i usually do is turn away from my computer, but i usually read while i eat -- which brings up a question / is eating while reading similiar to eating at the computer? is this something i should try to change? Sorry for rambling about my self. emoticon
