Goodbye weight; Hello Healthy Checks! Surgery Wednesday

Sunday, June 29, 2014

I've lost another 2.2 lbs since my entry two weeks ago. Yay! :) Slowly but surely is the name of this game! But that's ok. I've never felt more in control of my eating habits in my life. I don't crave unhealthy food anymore and am totally in love with this healthy lifestyle.

Funny thing happened when I went to focusing on my Healthy Checks, though. Now, I have a hard time getting in all my Daily Points! I remember when I first started WW Online about 10 months ago and started off with around 36 DPs and thinking, "How the heck will I ever manage at 26 DPs in the future?!" Now here I am, WORKING HARD just to make sure I get the minimum 26 in! In no way have I really had to work at it. It's just come naturally, gradually, and comfortably. Weird, huh? I still have about 50 lbs to go to get to my goal and it may very well take another 10 months to do it, but that's ok. I'm up to it. :)

Next week is my hysterectomy. I'm getting terribly nervous. Not so much about the surgery itself or even recovery, but about waking up from general anesthesia. I hate that feeling! I have this horrible suffocating sensation as I'm coming out, like I'm struggling to breathe. Hate it! It's terrifying. :( But, I know I'll be glad I did it.

The Healthy Guidelines are so important --- yet I think it's one of those things that a lot of people skip by and/or don't take it seriously! They really are the key to the program -- I've heard that over and over in meetings --- follow those and you will be successful --- that's what our leader is always saying and it's true! I never would have thought that 26 points would be enough either - I'm almost there and I think I will do just fine too!

Sending my thoughts and prayers to you for a successful surgery and a complete, speedy and non-terrifying anesthesia experience.

I've experienced that horrible feeling like you can't breathe upon the initial waking up from anesthesia after several surgeries that I've had in the past. It's a terrible feeling so I can definitely relate to what your talking about.
Wishing you a speedy recovery from your upcoming surgery...
