Week 2 but still on day 1

Friday, June 27, 2014

Isn't that amazing? I've been so motivated in my head to "begin" this journey. I even went on a run. Then I spend my days running running cleaning and doing for others. I use my exercise as a reward to myself that I can never claim. But, while running (seems to be when I think best) I thought: "just because I'm not pushing play on DVD or running doesn't mean I'm not on this journey"

So, am I still on forever day 1? probably....but for the 145,509,209th time.

That's a heck of a streak I think.

Today, my "streak" of fitness movement will consist of heavy cleaning. My house is ikky on this fine "sunday" (it's MY Sunday) and I want my house to shine. and I do plan on hitting play tonight on my DVD....see, I will also clean the 4th bedroom to where I'm not "waiting for the TV" ...excuse busted!!

My friend Kim has set up a Facebook page for Mommy's and Daughters (hers and mine) that will be fun too i think.

I do have a question for any runners out there.

I run with ear buds in (iPod music) as many of you know. I am hard of hearing otherwise and legally blind.

My question is: snakes.

I want to run a pretty populated walking trail by my house but the truth is, I'm afraid of the "off chance....but maybe not so off chance" that I miss (or don't miss?) a rattler.

Should I just stay on the sidewalk?

Treadmill?

should I just chance it?

I hear of people doing trail running and I always think "OMGosh how? snakes!!" If you haven't noticed I clearly have a fear of them

So, am I just being overly paranoid?

OBKB:

I'm streaking day 1.

going to do like Mostmom and a couple of others...I love seeing "streak 935" If I can make it to 7 days, I know I can make it to 20, then 100, and so on.....

day 1: (yes, again....I like day 1 clearly)

21 day fix: Cardio

W2D2 run:

4th bedroom clean/laundry:

Tonight this blog SHOULD/WILL have three check marks of completion. I'll be back as I am going to post a mini challenge for our Chefs.

Okay everyone...there's my confetti thoughts.

Now, off to cleaning and I'll see you tonight. go do something. 10 minutes. Move...run, skip, walk...

and I want to hear ALLLLLL about it.

OBKB?

O'tay!!

I run on trails sometimes and usually the snakes are more afraid of you than you are of them and stay away. Unless they're sunning themselves, but I can't think of a time they wouldn't slither away from you, not toward you. I guess I'm saying it's a good bet to chance it. P.S. Just emoticon your Lucille Ball photo! Good luck on the running.

I think that day 1 is necessary to rework something that isn't working perfectly even if it means having a million day 1's emoticon Hmm..on the snakes..I would be paranoid too and stay on the sidewalk. emoticon emoticon

I stick to sidewalks, paved roads and treadmill mostly because I'm a klutz who can trip over rocks, roots or even gravel. Also, bears have been spotted in our area. This city girl is not ready for that much country living.

I agree with Ruffit - no music in my ears. I want to be completely aware of my surroundings.

    Good luck!

Just for fun, I figured out how many years are in 145,509,209 and it is 398,382.5 and some more numbers after the decimal. I don't think you are almost 4 hundred thousand years old. emoticon emoticon

As long as out is a well traveled path, most snake will avoid it. I say go for it.

I share your fear of snakes! They are icky! That being said, I have only run into one while out running so far in my lifetime. I don't know how aggressive snakes can be. Perhaps someone in Spark land can tell you.

Good luck on your cleaning! I have a ton of that to do this weekend too!

Ha! I like walking trails but I live in an area where there are no dangerous snakes, so I don't have to worry. In fact, in my 33 years living here, I've only ever SEEN a snake once, and it was about as big around as my pinky. Hope you come up with a solution!

I had my jog last night. I clocked in at 4.2 miles. I don't listen to music because I want to hear the cars or motorcycles coming near me. Not to scare you but my eldest got bit by a garter snake while he was running last fall. He still ran after that and clocked-in 300 plus miles over last summer. If you want to do it you WILL!! Have fun!! Hugs, Moni emoticon
