Where's My Endurance?

Friday, June 27, 2014

Endurance....what is Endurance anyway:
noun-the fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way.

"she was close to the limit of her endurance"

synonyms: toleration, tolerance, sufferance, forbearance, patience, acceptance, resignation, stoicism More
"she pushed him beyond the limit of his endurance"
•stamina, staying power, fortitude, perseverance, persistence, tenacity, doggedness, grit, indefatigability, resolution, determination;
formal pertinacity

"the race is a test of endurance"
the capacity of something to last or to withstand wear and tear.

I have been out of commission for exercise for about 2 weeks. It was tough today getting back on the trail for my 5 mile walk/run. But I was thinking about my endurance. More about endurance in the past when I took long (month after month) break from exercising. I really surprised myself in the past. It didn't take weeks to get back into the swing of things. I'm pretty hard headed when it comes to myself. I don't allow myself to ease into anything. I'm a go all the way NOW type of gal. Not always the smartest thing to do. It is was it is.
My point today is how to find your endurance. Sometimes you got to dig it out. But you will surprise your self. Just when you think you just can't do it anymore....All of a sudden you are looking at the finish line, you are shaking while you lift that last rep, you are sweating the last few minutes. But you complete your exercise. You finished it. Sometimes a tad bit more than the last time. But the point is:
YOU FOUND YOUR ENDURANCE!!! You can and did this!
