Hubby says I've got shiny object syndrome, and he's right. I am frequently distracted when something sidetracks me. This morning while getting ready for work, I was thinking about things I had promised to get done, and a possible timeline, when I noticed my corduroy jackets. Certainly not in season, but I have them hanging on the side of my dresser. The more recent purchase is a brown jacket, that was way snug last fall. It is still not a perfect fit. I need more room in my lower arms for it to fit properly, but it does slide right on and it buttons.
Then I tried on the other, like a deep purple or wine color and I until I recently rescued it, it was in the trunk of my old car (the one I am about to donate or sell to the junker). Sadly, the trunk frequently becomes my 2nd closet. Anyway, I tried that one on and it hung on me. Oh, I can still wear it and I will - but it hangs on me. I was trying to remember when I got that, and I think I can pinpoint to 2008 or before, remembering a particular student's comments about the color.
So then I started thinking if I arrived here in 2005 (around a 100 pounds lower than I am now), that I gained most of my weight between 2005, and 2008 - and therefore, I am now on the downswing since then. That is fabulous to me, and to the average ear, may sound crazy, but to me it is very tangible proof that I am making a difference in my body shape and what I weigh! Yippee!!
The day is off to a good start so far. I need to work out my gym schedule a bit better, but overall life is moving according to plan. I have been keeping my stress in check.
Hope all is well, sparkies!
