Back home, trying to get back to normal
Monday, June 23, 2014
For almost two weeks, we lived in the home of Rebecca's family. This was incredibly difficult for my back, since they have no chair that begins to provide me with the support and comfort of my own chair. We sat shiva with them for the full seven days, which was dozens of people over every single day, lots of food setup, lots of cleanup after. Then we stayed two more nights, with the plan to leave on Saturday morning. By the time we went to bed on Friday, the numbness and tingling in my leg had gone all the way down to my toes, something I've never experienced before.
Then on Saturday morning we got the word that Kat's father had died. After losing a daughter, losing her father too was a body blow that left her bordering on catatonic. We stayed until the afternoon, but for health reasons I simply *had* to go home at that point.
Yesterday I did absolutely nothing, except for walking the dog. Never started my computer, only looked at my cellphone intermittently. I could use about a WEEK of those days, but real life and earning a living summon me. Back to work this morning, albeit at a slower pace than usual. Tomorrow, back to the gym!
