Vacation! BSG Week3 Active Apples!

Saturday, June 21, 2014

Well writing about a cacation this summer is a little hard. It seems like I am on a permanent vacation since I retired. I can do just about anything I want go where I want. I do remember a vacation that I took when I was 16 years old with my two younger sisters, my mom and oldest sister, to Savannah, GA. We spent two weeks there visitin my married sister who's husband was in Vietnam at the time.

I was lucky enough to be able to visit some of the most historic sites while in Savannah. The Juleit Lowe house that had been recently restored. Several plantation house that also had been restored around Savannah and old Fort that had been there since before the Civil War. If you haven't figured it out I am a BIG History buff.

I have promised myself that I will some day go back to Savannah to revisit some of thsese historical places. I would also like to go visit Mount Vernon, and Gettysburg. That is the kind of the vacation I would like to enjoy next.

I've been to Savannah one time before and remember it as such a beautiful place. I definitely want to go there again. I've been to Gettysburg quite a bit, being from PA...I also like visiting historical places!!

Thanks for sharing your memories of your vacation with your family to Savannah. It sounds like it must have been a fun one. I like to visit historical sites and places where you can learn or get a new perspective on history. Randy and I visited the Lincoln museum in Springfield, Illinois one summer and it was great. I also visited the Titanic museum in Branson and that was really cool! I'd love to go back and visit it again. I hope you'll get back to Savannah someday to revisit some of the historical places you mentioned.
