You start where you start

Friday, June 20, 2014

I have always told new people to start where they are.

On the Todays show they just showed a man that lost 550 pounds, no surgery, no weight loss pills. Well he said he just had some excess skin removed. It took him 10 years and he is 220 at 26 now. My math says that means he was a 77o at 16.

This guy was saying when he started his exercise program his intense cardo was moving to the front of his seat and standing up and sitting down. Then it was how many steps away from his chair could he take.

You start where you start.

What an inspiration these stories are! I was feeling pretty down but I have nowhere near that much to lose. I have never quit but have slowed down until I recover from my surgery. Thanks for reminding me that you have to start in order to finish!

I watched someone with about that much to lose start out - From my apartment window about 25 years ago, I watched a man who drove onto the walking track each afternoon and would walk about 15 steps and return to his car and leave. Over the course of time, he would walk further and further and then one day I noticed he parked the car at the top of the hill and was getting smaller and smaller - it has remained until this day and reminder that we CAN do it if we just start SOMEWHERE and refuse to quit.
