Sabotage, over and over again

The next 5% challenge starts this weekend so why did I do it?!? Last night was my yoga class' monthly eat dinner out evening. We went to the Rok Bistro in downtown Sunnyvale. This is NOT a place for a diet www.rokbistro.com/

My husband who is way more active than I am and has a huge appetite came with us this time and while the rest of my yoga buddies ordered just an entree my husband insisted on the Rok n Pot "A Three-Course option with your Entrée includes, Salad and your choice of either Cheese Fondue or Chocolate Fondue for only $16 more per person
(Two Entrée and Two Person Minimum)" We opted for Chocolate Fondue.

*I had the citrus salad Baby spinach with Mozzarella, Mandarin oranges, Strawberries and Almonds with a sweet vinaigrette dressing.
*We split the Chicken and Ahi Tuna entries
****and then my major down fall! the Snickers Chocolate fondue: Milk chocolate with Peanut butter, caramel and heavy cream served with fresh fruit and pastry delicacies like mini Rice Krispy squares, mini cream puffs and pound cake.

It was so delicious, I couldn't stop. By the time we do our baseline weigh-in for the 5% challenge, I'm sure I'll be up at least 5 lbs from usual weight.

There is no way to track this. I can't even guess what kind of calorie tax I could add to my tracker to accurately guess how much damage this has caused.

I have to get back on track or I am going regret it for a long time!! Luckily these 5% challenges really motivate me and if anything can get me anywhere close to be where I need to be it is that. We start this Saturday. Wish me luck! I've done it before I CAN do it again!

    Oh gosh....I so feel for you with those impossible delicious temptations. I find if I have sugar I'm impossible to rein in. Sometimes those hubbys can be terrible because they can eat so much more and not pay for it the way we do. My hubs is exactly the same!

BUT...you can't beat yourself up over one incident...all you can do is learn from the experience and move on. You are such a tiny thing I don't think this will be a little slip that you can't bounce back from and quickly!

    Sounds like my DH - he loves his food and wants to share it with me, whether I'm hungry or not.

So, chalk it up to a learning experience. (And hey, you didn't eat the whole thing, right? It was a shared treat.) And work on doing better for the rest of the week, or month.

(I always feel better when the splurge is planned, such as for a special occasion.)

    Don't sweat it! I read your post and thought about how great you were doing. I realize that might sound strange but here's my thoughts....it sounds like you consistently go to yoga where you are comfortable with going to the once a month dinner which is awesome and shows you are committed. Your husband went with you which is some great quality time and even though it was a very much splurge meal it still quality time together which can be rare when life can be so busy. Consider it your reward for keeping up the hard work and the next day is a new day. Hope that might change your perspective so you won't be so down on yourself. emoticon

    I find that most of my sabotage moments involve me wanting to please someone else (ie - not wanting to disappoint your husband by refusing his choice because it required 2 people minimum)

My people pleasing tends to be my downfall - maybe you too? If you can identify why you sabotage, you will be able to be more pre-emptive!

Get ready for the next 5% challenge! You will do great.
