Something to ponder....

"Not everyone will understand your journey. That's fine. It's not their journey to make sense of. It's yours."

I saw this quote today and it led me to write this blog. It really applies to those of us on this journey to a healthier lifestyle. Whether you want to lose weight, tone up, maintain or simply make better choices to aid you in your daily well being, this quote applies to you.

We have all been there, we have family, friends or a loved one that we tell about our goals and in return we get the forever routine response. "You're not fat why would you want to lose." My other fav is "It's a holiday, you can take ONE day can't you."

While we are all choosing our new lifestyle that does not always mean that those around us will support us. I have seen and read it all. "My family doesn't understand." "My friends tell me I am not fat why am I trying to lose weight." My personal fav is :"Just cause your doing it you better not expect me too."

These are all natural responses from outsiders. Those who choose not to follow a healthy lifestyle think that those of us who do are Out of our minds. Some of our family and friends do in fact support us. e can even get them involved and they start their own path to well being but what do we do for those who don't?

When you are faced with the adversity, the non support you must remember this quote. Print it out put it up around the house or on your phone. Write it in every planner, do what you need to make this quote stick because in the end it is is correct. This is YOUR journey, YOUR choice. When you are not getting that motivation or support from others, remember this quote and use it to regain your motivation. You are doing this for yourself, you are worth it.

You may end up surprised at how many of the "not me" people will follow once they see how fabulous you truly are. If they do not, remember they have chosen their journey.

What path will you choose?

LOVE this post. Thank you so much for sharing the quote & your thought with it. :) I totally have someone like that in my life.... my husband. "Oh, you can take one day off ... can't you?" must be his fave. line to me. :( But I just have learned to shrug it off and just do what *I* need to do. :) I will remember this quote and put it everywhere so I can see it everyday. :)

Great motivating quote you've found! I am glad you're looking for ways to personalize your journey and really make it YOUR'S. That's the MAJOR step most people struggle with.

And everyone's method is also different. There's not one RIGHT way for everyone as a whole. I think there are BETTER ways, but not everyone is gonna choose it.

I also think it is important for us to remember that we are not better than someone else that doesn't choose to support or follow what we're doing. I've just never enjoyed creating an environment where there are outsiders, per say.

I guess the best example is my hubby: he is totally wonderful and supportive! He's actually pushed me to be happy and that's been great! The challenge for me was learning how to make food that was healthier that would also fill him up and make his necessary calories as he is a man and needs more than myself. He supported and supports my meals that I wanna try to make that are healthier for me personally....but his one requirement was that they had to taste good. So, I had backups just in case, and also made side items for him that I wouldn't eat so he would get enough food. He is now trying to make sure he's not getting too much cholesterol, so that's been really cool to see him get more health conscience, so that's exciting.

ANYWAYS, best of luck to you in your journey! IT's EXCITING!
