Sunday, Positive Focus, Day 46

It was Father's Day. For some reason, I actually slept in, it was almost 10am when I got up. I need to stop staying up so late on the weekends, although if I were kidless, I'd probably stay up late.

The kids had already given their father the two boxes of chocolates they picked out for him. They were disagreeing about which ones to get him, so I let them both pick one out.

It was one of those lazy days where none of us wanted to do anything. My husband managed to watch the Classic Dr. Who we had to borrow from the library. I managed a new computer game for cheap and played that for much of the day.

The only reason I got as many steps for the day as I did get was because I once again did not have dinner prepared in my head ahead of time, so I ended up going up to Target to get the ingredients. I'm glad we live so close to several stores that I can do that. I probably wouldn't have hit 1,000 had I not left the house at all. It still wasn't that great of a step count when all was said and done, but it was the weekend and I usually get my big step days during the week.

Despite getting up so late, I still had breakfast right away.

My husband was nice enough to share his chocolates. The kids insisted he share. ;)

"Lunch" was watermelon and one of those spicy Happy Sticks, I got two for each of us, so this was my second one for the week.

About an hour later, I ended up making a sandwich anyhow. I made sure to have some veggies with it.

I went out to get dinner and when I got home, I had to open the cookies right away. My son asked for cookies and I gave in, picking up some of my favorites, but I did well to get the smaller ones.

We had chicken nuggets and french fries. I added a salad to my plate.

But after dinner, I also had to have some of the other kind of cookies I picked up, still the smaller kind. I used to eat three of the big ones in a sitting and probably could have eaten half the container of these ones, but I contained myself to two.

My late night snack (those danged cookies had me going) were some Lemon Pucker Pistachios from my NatureBox. They finished off my craving and I stopped eating for the day.

Apparently I need to set a goal of meal planning again. I was on top of that at one point, but seem to have fallen off that train. Food just hasn't excited me lately, in fact the food industry scares me enough to make me wonder. Fortunately it's summer and the local farmer's market will be opening soon! I like it better when I can meet the farmer to know what they've sprayed on the product or how they treat their animals. I guess I have it lucky being in the middle of local family farm country.

    Good job showing restraint with the cookies. Anything that involves moderation is tough for me.
