My father has been gone since 1979/ He was a big part of my life as a child. He would go to work at 7am and come home at 7pm. We didn't spend much time together those times we did have together we made the most of them. My daddy taught me how to fish. He always baited my hook. It wasn't till I was married that I had to bait my own hook.
My dad tried to teach me how to drive a car with a manual transmission. After we got stopped by a police officer. He decided that he would get me a automatic and let the school finish my lessons.
When I was nine I broke my right leg and ended up in the hospital for two months. My father would come by to see me in the morning and in the evening before going home. He spoiled me rotten with games, and toys. Then when I cam home from the hospital he made me see that I should be generous and donate all of those gifts to the childrens wing.
My dad has always been my hero. When he was hospitalized for cancer. I spent a great deal of my free time with him trying to give him the same comfort that he gave me all those years ago.
It has been 25 years since my dad passed away. I still miss him like it was yesterday.
