Wow! First Blog in a While! Day 164 of 10min/day

Thursday, June 12, 2014

I guess I got busy, it's been a while since I've posted a blog. Today was day 164 of ten minutes of exercise per day. The last few weeks I've done a lot of walking. No time for much of anything else. This week I've gotten a couple of shorter jogs in, and today I did a couple weights exercises. I've figured out how to shorten my routine, so I may be able to start getting stretching and weights back into my routine. I also finally got my one-piece swimsuit I ordered online, so maybe some swimming too.

Speaking of swimming, the kids had their first meet last night. All six are swimming. Mary (14) overdid it a bit. She swam in two team relay races, and in both swam two legs. This was in addition to swimming 50 free, 50 back, and 100 free. Total, she did 400! She over-extended her back on a couple of starts, so she's taking it easy today. She's my daughter that had the back injury from volleyball. My eight year old daughter swam great! Bridget swam in both team relay races, 25 butterfly, 25 breast, and 50 free. Stevie (12) swam individual medley, both team relays, 50 free and 50 breast. Patrick (15) swam 50 free, 50 breast, and was on one relay team. Mikey (17) did 50 free and 100 free. He had a bad day at time trials, and there are six boys in the high school age group. Too many for one relay team, not enough to field two teams. They didn't have any extra girls to stick with them to form a second relay team. He's learned his lesson and is going to be less picky about what strokes he volunteers for. Sean (8-Bridget's twin), swam one race, the 25 freestyle. He made it across putting his face in the water, and he swam the whole way. Huge improvement for him. He said for the next meet, he will try to do two races. I'm rewarding him with board games that he can play with Bridget.

It's been fun seeing the swim team mom's again. Some I haven't seen since last summer. One came to me last night half way through the meet and said, "I didn't even recognize you! You look fantastic!" That felt really good.

I still get on Spark People every day. I have a streak of 140 days of logging in. I don't always blog, or comment on the message boards. Logging my miles walked and jogged keeps me pretty motivated. I still have to work hard to maintain. In fact, I splurged a little too frequently and found my weight up 10 pounds. When I thought back over the previous two weeks, it made sense. Too much junk went in my body! I'm now doing another round of HCG. I had over 70 days off. I'm just doing the sublingual supplement. It's cheaper, and I think I have better appetite control doing drops three times a day rather than the shot once daily. This all helps me to get my portions under control again and gets rid of any sugar craving I develop from eating treats too much.

All this hard work pays off. I had to buy a summer dress yesterday. We are going to a wedding this weekend. I ended up buying a size 6. Pretty cool!

164!! Excellent! I'm still struggling to get a daily minimum in but I'm slowly improving over time. I've only failed when I've stopped trying!
