Slow and Steady

Well I've tried to be re-focused but there is so much yummy food to be had in the world. Today we had pizza buffet, and I've been craving dipped ice cream cones. What does everyone else to do stop with all the bad food cravings? I don't have any problem making food at work and following a guide but then sometimes I just go off track for no real reason. i think some of it is that i'm bored at work at night with not a lot to do so I eat as well. Any suggestions,tips, guides would be awesome!

    Maybe try just have a small taste. I try not yo over it but I do have some of the things I like.if you deny then you only want more.

    Cut 1 slice of pizza in half so you have "2" slices. It works for me,,, You don't feel deprived and you don't overly stuff yourself either..

    Drink a BIG glass of water. A lot of times your body just needs some water while your brain tells you it wants food. Drinking a big glass of water BEFORE snacking will help you not to eat so much.

    PJB145 gave you some great ideas. Prepare as much as you can. When you cannot, eat a small amount and walk away.

    Enjoying something you like is fine as long as you enjoy it in moderation and calculate into your daily calories.

    Avoid depriving yourself as much as possible. Just keep reminding yourself - moderation. Take a few bites instead of a whole bowl. Have one small slice of pizza instead of half a pie. Over time you will teach your body to enjoy the bites more than the whole plate.

    Since you have identified one of the reasons you eat (boredom) prepare for it. I always pack a nutritious snack (something I love to eat) so that when temptation comes calling I don't have to answer.

    Unless these are trigger foods, there is no reason you cannot enjoy a slice of pizza. If you know ahead of time about the special meal buffets prepare a nutritious salad to pair with the slice that way you can have your treat and stay within plan as well.

    Also water, water, water. I find drinking 8 to 16 oz. of water before eating gives me the sensation of fullness so that I can eat less of the "special treats" and enjoy myself just as much.

    I am definitely no expert at this but these tricks have helped me to shed 22 pounds.
