List of Distractions

In the past I have sabotaged my efforts by giving in to food binge cravings. Once I give in the first time, it seems too easy to give in on the subsequent cravings.
Fortunately, I have noticed that I ignore the food binge cravings when I'm engaged in certain activities. Here is a list of things I can do to deter these cravings.
Read - a good book, the bible, or anything else that is interesting.
Go for a walk - being outside can be refreshing but, I can also use the treadmill if the weather is bad.
Practice an instrument - it can be a piece I'm working on but, it can also be a piece I'm interested in or even scales.
Write/journal - just putting things down on paper can redirect the mind.
Yard work - again, being outside is refreshing. Plus, I get a workout.
Talk to a friend or family member - sometimes it just feels good to know I have their support and vice versa.
Play with the cats - I don't have kids yet and the cats need to be active too sometimes. They usually let me know when they want to play.
Prepare a menu/grocery list - thinking ahead about healthy meal options helps redirect the unhealthy cravings.
