A little of this, a little of that, #3 2014 Trip

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

Because my computer access is so limited (I'm at the library doing this), I will just send some photo clips today, and hope to have greater access when I get to California next week:

So far so good:

This is the way I feel under the New Mexico and Arizona sky:
(After Rilke)

Whoever you are: step out of doors tonight,
Out of the room that lets you feel secure.
Infinity is open to your sight.
Whoever you are.
With eyes that have forgotten how to see
From viewing things already too well-known,
Lift up into the dark a huge, black tree
And put it in the heavens: tall, alone.
And you have made the world and all you see.
It ripens like the words still in your mouth.
And when at last you comprehend its truth,
Then close your eyes and gently set it free.

~ Dana Gioia ~
(Interrogations at Noon)
Their reputation for delicious homemade pie reached me at a camping spot, so of course with my sweet tooth I had to sample the local color:

So, of course, I ate lightly at dinner:

In Springerville, AZ, I enjoyed a lovely bike ride:

More to come!

Hi Maha! Glad to see some pics of your travels! Taking any picture of where you're at? How's the air conditioner repair coming along? May it be done for the rest of your trip - will make it a lot easier to handle. Looks like we're all in for a hot spell! Stay cool sissta! Love you. Connie

So nice to hear from the traveler - YOU are lookin' good. Your pie.. and dinner are lookin' good too. Good to know that there is at least a little water in that 'Little Colorado River'........Bike rides and great camping spots are making your Route 66 experience even more memorable.

Stay Safe
Stay well
Stay happy.....

much love
