New Week!

Monday, June 09, 2014

Last week was good in the exercise department. I did my ST Monday to Thursday alternating upper and lower body. I did well with nutrition... until Thursday rolled around and then I slipped off track again.

I was successful in not weighing in every day - but was a bit disappointed that not ONE pound moved ... however, it's my own doing with too much indulging on the weekend.

I was active with the yard work. So it's a new week and here's what I plan to switch back to... my daily weigh ins - it keeps me in check. I'm not saying I'm going to obsess but it is really something that helps me stay more focused and allows me to make adjustments as I need too sooner rather than later.

I have a busy social couple of weeks coming up too. FIVE dates in the starting tomorrow until next Thursday. All with people I've met before so repeat dates... FIVE different people. I am following the advice of friends and not putting all eggs in one basket and what I love is that each man brings about his own special thing. I will say my favorite one though is my Wednesday guy this week - it's our fifth time meeting up.

I also have my annual meeting with my association on Thursday and next Tuesday is my daughter's graduation dinner.

I've really got to get a handle on my finances again too... I'm still playing catch up and behind a bit with a few bills - stressful... I really need to work on this area of my life to either find ways to cut costs or earn extra money somehow...

I had my daughter's counseling session and unfortunately - the replacement social worker that was assigned to her while her regular one was on sick leave (now being extended to a long term sick leave) - well she is leaving too. So now we have to get ANOTHER worker assigned to her... Somewhat frustrating but it is what it is. We did have the session to discuss some curfew issues she's been challenging me on - so we'll see if she will follow what we agreed upon without further pushing limits.

I hope to hear back soon too about her school day treatment program - and to go visit to see where she will be attending next year to wrap up this year. She is working from home - and has a couple of tests that she'll do tomorrow. I'm hoping she will pass her grade and move into grade 8 for next year. Her goal is to attend the special program for next year and be able to join a regular high school and she's even set a goal to do some volunteer work to get experience so she can get a job sooner than later - I was impressed by that (and so was her social worker)...

Some light shines in the tunnel here and there and I am thankful!

BTDT on the bill situation - I'm just now recovering from what I consider the "May from h**l"!

I can't help but figure with with the type of stress that social workers entail on a daily basis (and low pay, too, I suspect), that the turnover rate these days is probably quite significant..........I hope you can finally get stability in that area for your daughter (and you as well)!

5 dates is a good idea, being social and active helps with having your own life! Good for your DD to think about the future, its good to have volunteer experience so she can have a leg up when she tries for a regular job. If daily weigh-ins work for you then go for it~
