I had planned to work out before work this morning (since I was able to get up both weekend days really early and beat the Mommy Madness) - but you know what they say about the best laid plans. For some reason Monday mornings are my kryptonite and I didn't make it to my am workout.
But in a way I am glad I did it this evening. My kids are accounted for and sleeping/relaxing in their rooms and its me time. I really enjoyed today's workout, which was a 34 minute standing abs routine and a 10 minute cardio burst afterward. I don't mind doing ab work but my biggest beef is that it hardly burns any calories. My heart rate always lingers around 105-110 which is nowhere near my zone. This workout was different. Because it was all standing, the legs were involved and i still crushed my core. All while burning a nice 254 calories (before the cardio burst that is - my final burn was 346). My abs and lower back are doing to punish me tomorrow!
Just a small update on the eating. I am giving myself a
for mindful eating for the past 2 days. If I were to track I'd probably be a little above the 1500 that I'd recently been aiming for but well within the 1600-1900 that Spark gives me as a suggestion. I'm trying to figure out what "mindful" is for me and I think we'll adapt as we go. My Friday weigh in will be telling and I may need to adjust from there.
