June 9 - Wind

Monday, June 09, 2014

We had some winds last night. Nothing major - we've certainly had worse. So imagine my surprise when I walked outside on my way to work and saw about 1/4 of my neighbor's tree on top of my son's car! An entire limb, no less.

Been warning about that tree for years now, saying one day, it was going to fall on my son's car. It's one of those shallow-rooted maple-type trees, which I hate. What gets me, is the neighbor has her grandsons over frequently to trim the trees in back but never the front.

Oh, well. Insurance will take care of any scratches on his car. Guess it could have been worse.

Sorry the limb damaged your son's car!! Love your positive attitude! Tree limbs are NOT to be taken lightly!!! My husband, son and I spent a big part of the day Sunday trimming tree branches in many of the trees on our property!!!

It's a good warning to us all. My last job was with a company that worked with tree removal. I believe that the laws need to change so that the homeowner should be responsible if they don't take care to trim them or remove them if they are getting out of hand. Glad it's only scratched the car.
