I picked my first tomatoes today, and since I neglected to label the plants I'm not quite sure exactly what variety they are... One is a Celebrity, I'm pretty sure, and the other big one is an heirloom type, but it came off a plant that I could have sworn was one of my usual common varieties, but the fruit is dark dark red, almost purple... definitely NOT a Celebrity...

And then there were a handful of Sweet 100s... how I love this little, vivacious tomato.... sweet like candy, it's amazing that any survived the trip into the house.

E-I-E-I-O....

Heirloom tomatoes make the best tomato soup. Our first crop should be ready soon. Enjoy!!

YUM!! I am going to get some plant when we come back down and have some over the winter. Miss the homegrown and haven't been home long enough to plant any.
