Busy and I think I managed to piss off at least ONE cat!!

Sunday, June 08, 2014

Well I sort of have a computer again -still NOT happy about losing all my passwords etc from the old hard drive and still not happy with windows 7.
Got nagged about several things not being done (in spite of being the only one with a Full time job) so I got mad and thought "OK I 'll show you" (this being about noon and of course she went to go visit her mom and was going to take a chair so she could sit in the park- great). Well I gathered up some power tools and supplies and went out as one of the things was a section of fence that I had sort of neglected yeah OK mea culpa - so I went to work trying to fix it. Being tight I was going to reuse some of the old boards - sadly they were not in pristine shape- and were also buried in the back garden between my old 79 GMC pickup and the shed and the greenhouse. So it was bit of an ordeal to wrestle them out and clean them up prior to re-cutting them to length- originally they went the entire length rather than only most of the way which was good as several of them had split and or broke in other ways when I demolished the original fence (which on discovery was more ready to fall on its own more than I had realized).
Surprisingly I also discovered by accident (some of my male readers may find this more interesting) that a speed square makes a great paint scraper. One of the first boards had some leaves and various other detritus on it so I went and absentmindedly swept over it with my speed square. To my shock the filth came off but ALSO a lot of the paint. Also I thought it was better to scrape the paint off NOW rather than trying to do it in situ (Latin of course for in Place).
Most of the boards were not in all that bad of shape (OK they were not new but
still in spite of being out in the back on the ground etc) I think they werte either cedar or some thing other that pine for how they held up. I even cleaned up all my mess AND mowed the lawn - basically I was busy from about noon until almost 5 pm and I didn't even stop for a proper lunch I just ate a couple of bananas and drank a lot of water. Oh and I managed to find (and STEP ON that was how I found it ) a cat toy (specifically a BALL) oddly enough they feel funny rather like a puff ball but sadly they do NOT roll very good after being turned into a DEE SHAPE.

Sounds like you did a great job! Hopefully the "boss" will be pleased with your hard work. Hopefully the cat"boss" won't mind the misshapen ball too bad. You know how cats are. They may actually find the ball more interesting.
