A Day in Town, Gardening, Clean Fridge, Baby Love

Friday, 6 Jun 14
Friday morning, I worked outside to some more YouTube Hoop Tutorials learning 4 different "Palm Spins". Then we went to town and ate at Applebee's; carried some Yoga Pants to be taken up (I'm in between medium and large, so I buy large and have them taken up); went to Academy to look for some garden shoes or Crocs but didn't buy any. They cost alot for what I'm wanting to use them for which is setting outside on the porch to slip on when I go outside or work in the garden. But I think I'm going to go back and get them, because I looked online for cheap garden shoes and there's not much for under $30. So the Crocs will probably be just what I really need. Then we went to the Super One grocery store. We looked for better fruit than what we've been finding locally. The ones we've bought locally lately haven't been very good. Bruised, too ripe, not ripe enough, etc. We bought some peaches, nectarines and plums. They are pretty good!

Later, I got back outside and worked some more on my hoop routine, recorded it for uploading to Sparkpeople.

I worked some more on my Jasmine ground cover trimming it up. It looks better now. It was getting scraggly looking. I got my hoop video routine uploaded (see video blog below). And then I finally knocked an old tasker off my "to-do" list. I cleaned out the fridge. Man, I never realized how dirty it was until I saw how good it looked afterwards. So for this day, I felt accomplished. Not fun to do it but a good feeling when it's done.

I went to see the baby. He changes every time I see him. I'm falling more and more in love each day! So precious.

Savannah is feeling pretty good, but she still won't eat her Puppy Chow. She has some "EN" canned dog food the vet gave us, and she will eat a little of that each evening, but it's still not enough so that worries us a bit. She also has what looks like a hernia on her tummy near her incision. I'll probably take her back to the vet tomorrow for the second time since her surgery. I'm ready for her to get back to normal. Tomorrow will be a week since her spay surgery.

I think I'm going to start a daily Gratitude (What I'm Thankful For) Journal. My other daughter-in-law has one that she started back in 2013 and she shared some of hers on her personal blog. It seemed like a nice idea, and it helps to focus on the positive things in day to day life instead of the negative. It's funny, because coincidentally, in church, the sermon was about having love for one another and about counting our blessings. It just tied in with what I'm thinking concerning the journal. I won't post it all on this blog, but I'll share my first ones this time and maybe on some of my daily updates. So today, to start, what I'm grateful for is:

1. My newborn grandson. (That has to be my #1 entry since he is the big thing happening in my life right now.)
2. Also blessed to have church fellowship with people I care about and who care about me. (Helen, Velma, Ophelia, Delores, & Pat). I enjoyed talking with them all this morning.

I like your idea of a daily Gratitude Journal! I might just have to try that since I find myself looking at the negative much more than I should.

Today, I am SO grateful for the wonderful breezy weather here in IL.
