Summertime! Remember playing outside from early morning til after sunset, only running inside for moments at a time to grab Popsicles or gather up a little bit of air conditioning before flying back out the screen door?

Yeah...neither do our kids. Ugh.

It's the video game generation, folks. And it's a little sad.

Definitely time to throw all the phones and iPods in a box and put em on a shelf. Know what I mean?

I have a picture of my daujghter and her date all dressed for the senior prom standing next to each other straing at their iPhones. Such a commentary on their generation...

I remember riding my bike & roller skating having water balloon targets. We didn't have air conditioning in TX growing up. Ahh to be a kid again for just a little while. Kids need balance maybe during the hot part of the day they can be cool & calm playing video games, then during the cool times they can be outside playing, running jumping riding bikes whatever makes them & you happiest.

Have a fun summer, enjoy your wonderful kids they grow up all too soon.

Many Blessings Always Debby

Yup! I do remember... and we didn't have AC when I grew up! So it was Kool-Aid popsicles and iced lemonade!

I hear ya! This day in age is too electronic/techy/gadgety...I miss the simplicity of the 80's...before cellphones and computers. I hope a time machine gets put on the market soon! Hahahahahaha! emoticon

It is a different World today... but it was probably also different for us having TV than it was for our parents.

Disconnect for the summer. They will whine for a few days, I do suggest ear plugs, but in the long run everyone will win. It helps if you can cut down your use and that of the hubby too. Have a lovely summer. emoticon

I guess that all we can do is to restrict the use of these devices in our domain, both for our kids and any that may be around. The other thing would be to figure out something to make the outdoor stuff more attractive than the electronic devices...

Now to figure out something for me to restrict my computer time. emoticon
