Best laid plans sometimes go astray!

So the plan to walk downtown to my hair appointment today (probably a 25-30 minute walk one way) didn't quite work because of threatening skies and lack of time. However I had two or three errands I wanted to accomplish downtown so the alternate plan became to park about two blocks from my stylist's and then get in some walking while accomplishing my other tasks after my appointment. The result was about 20 minutes of walking - considerably less than if I had walked to the appointment but on par with the amount of walking I have been doing.

My other accomplishment today is of course doing a blog post for the third day in a row!

    Thanks Betty. Have not really blogged or reached out too much for friends on Spark previously so no we haven't been friends before but there is no time like the present to start. Maybe that is one reason why I haven't stayed the course so much - because I wasn't communicating with others on the site. Half portions are a good idea if I can get them. I won't be able to take leftovers with me to finish the following day when we are on the road. We like to stop for a big breakfast after travelling a couple of hours each morning but my omelet always came with home fries which I will should pass up.We generally didn't stop for lunch as a result but we will have snacks with us in the car. I always find that the sodium when eating out is a bit of a killer for me although I do not have BP problems. Interestingly enough one of the healthiest dinners I had last year on our journey was at a truck stop!

    Thanks too Randi. That is the way I feel too (but maybe I am sometimes justifying my laziness!) some activity is better than none. Once we reach our destination, I should get some activity trying to keep up with our active 18 month old grandson whom we haven't seen since last summer!

    Good job keeping your commitment to walking even when you could've parked the car right at your hair stylist's! Even a little bit of activity is better then none & it will help you stay motivated to keep going!

    Hi, and welcome back. sounds like you are getting back on track. Walking emoticon as much as you could today was a good start. Enjoy your vacation but try to have half portions of everything. That has helped me in the past. Wishing you well as you restart your journey to a healthier you. Your new Spark friend (unless we were before and I don't remember!) Betty emoticon
