for 2 days now!

I went to my Weight Watcher's weigh in and meeting last night and it wasn't too bad. I only gained .8. I know most of the reason for that is the mega water I drink and the fact that I was pretty active (even though my eating was way out of whack!).

Since I've basically not been tracking anything, I decided to switch over to the Simply Filling plan with WW. I like the "food list" (it kind of reminds me of the South Beach options, but with fruit!) and you have weekly points if you eat anything not on the list. It's easy to keep up with and I like pretty much everything on the list.

I'm also challenging myself to "no sweets" this week and I'm 2 days strong - no sweets or chips/crackers!

Last night's meeting was a little humbling and motivating. My sister and I got our "16 week Charm". I felt a little embarrassed, because in this 16 week period, I've only managed to loose 4.2 lbs. (I was up to 6 lbs. at one point). I also remembered the WW days of old (a couple of years ago) where I was consistently loosing and in the 6 months it took me to get to goal, I never had a gain!

The motivating part was the actual meeting. The leader is very good (funny & motivating). I think I mentioned before she has lost over 200 lbs. on WW and has kept it off for over 12 years (she's been on Today show, People mag. etc.).

The topic of the meeting was "Summer Strategies" and we discussed ways to meet the challenge of summer, i.e. vacations, weddings, kids being around, etc. (which is what I had last week and didn't do too well!).

There is also an "Ace Your Summer Challenge" which starts next week and goes for 12 weeks. Without going into details, my sister and I decided our "goal" for this challenge would be GOAL (me back to my goal weight and her to finally reach it). We both have about 10 lbs. to loose which is very doable for 12 weeks (but not based on our past 16 weeks results!).

So we are motivated! We went on our strenuous hike after the meeting. It's 3.8 miles and parts of it are very hard (steep hills and the end actually has about 20 steps straight up a hill). It was extra hard last night. I think part of it was the heat and humidity. Most of the trail is wooded, so it's a pretty nice hike for a summer evening.

I was going to do my Coach Nicole DVD this morning, but I don't quite have my "summer morning routine" down yet and forgot to reset the alarm. I'm actually finding myself rushing in the mornings and I think it's because most of my time now is spent making my breakfast/lunch and feeding/walking the dogs. In the past I would have more time in the summer because my girls were out of school, but apparently they don't take as much of my time as the dogs do now!

Anyway, I need to work the DVD in a couple of mornings, so I guess I can't sleep as late.

I actually just got an e-mail for a Virtual Race Series where basically "run Your Race - on a treadmill, in a park, in the city, in the morning, in the evening...basically anywhere and anytime you choose during the race period. Once your race starts, your clock runs until you complete your goal of 3.1 or 13.1 miles!" You actually get "swag" when you complete it. It's the week of July 19 - 27, which gives me some time to at least "train" a little. I've been wanting to get back into some running and this could be motivation for that. I'll have to read a little more about it, but it sounds fun. Maybe I'll get my family involved too!

So I have some motivation and challenges. Hopefully I can keep this going through the hot (and busy) days of Summer!

2 of my 3 girls get back home tonight. DD#2 will start her insane summer work-out schedule with volleyball and basketball. She actually already started with basketball last week and is at team camp this week. The next 2 weeks of June will be both basketball & volleyball and then she has 2 weeks off from volleyball and the week of June 30 - July 4 is a "dead week" for all High School sports in Georgia (we will be going to Florida that week). July will be all volleyball with practices, team camp and a couple of tournaments. The tryouts are August 1st and then the season starts right after that!

DD#3 has a back to back Vacation Bible School and Girl Scout Camp (away camp!), so DH and I will be busy trying to set up a driving schedule. DD#2 can't drive until mid-July and DD#1 won't be back from Arizona until June 10th, but she'll be able to help with some of the driving then.

So I'm back on course, I just need to stay there!
