I heard from the Specialist today and the whole 4 parathyroid glands are enlarged but there are no nasties there. thank goodness. But it also looks like a part of my thyroid gland is over-active too. So the Specialist said I will probably lose 3 1/2 P/T glands and part of the thyroid.

I would be worth it if I was losing lots of weight LOL. There is no treatment for hyperparathyroidism. Need to be removed as it will cause many other problems.

I have now moved my thyroid scan to next Friday. (week time) instead of the 2 weeks time.

thank you all for your well wishes.

    Hi Wendy,
I am relieved to hear there are no nasties with the P/T glands, though removal does certainly seems the best thing to do. It's good that the thyroid scan has been moved forward as well. Take care of yourself - thinking of you.
Big hugs,

Great idea to bring your appointment forward. It sounds like the sooner "they" are removed the better, so they will stop poisoning your system. Stay Strong!!

Good luck Wendy. I am having n ultrasound scan
on my thyroid on Tuesday also. I just can't seem
to shift the weight and the new doctor wants to see
the operation as it is now. You will be OK. Keep up
the healthy eating and just wait for the results.
