My last blog (almost a month ago!) had me "staying the course". I'm sorry to admit, that I'm "off course" now. I went into some detail about my "stress" of the past couple of months in my last blog. But hey, there's always something to stress about and mindless snacking does NOT help!
And a little TMI, but peri-menopause is also "kicking my butt"! I am hungry all the time and really craving the sweets/carbs! It's also not helping that I get up during the night with night sweats so I'm not getting enough sleep.
I've been off the grid and haven't been tracking on Spark or Weight Watchers. I missed last week's meeting because it was DD#1's high school graduation. I'm planning to go tomorrow, but it won't be pretty!
I was on vacation last week and I was very busy and also very active - a lot of walking with puppy, etc. , but I "ate everything in sight"! Of course I didn't track and I shudder to think about all (and what) I ate.
It was a good week though - full of blessings! We started the week with DD#2's confirmation (and party afterwards at the house). My niece had a scheduled C-section on Tuesday (for baby #2). We had a Memorial Day cook-out at our house and I kept great-nephew (GN) Monday night and all day Tuesday (he is only 18 months old and not "thrilled" with his new sister!). We went to the hospital Tuesday afternoon to visit Mom & Baby and my niece's husband took GN home later that night. I also watched GN all day Thursday while they got ready to take the baby home.
Wednesday was Graduation! DD#1 finished up great (I knew she would - I don't know why I stressed so much) and even got a "gold" tassel which means she kept a 3.5 (or above) GPA all 4 years of high school! They had over 450 kids graduating and held the ceremony at a big arena, so there was plenty of parking and seats. We were very proud! Of course we went out to eat afterwards, but then she went to a couple of parties - so no cake that day!
We had her graduation party on Sunday at the lake. It was a beautiful day and we had a good time. I was expecting about 40 people and about 30 people came (DD#1 had about 5 friends that couldn't come - so she was a little bummed, but still had a good time). Of course we had way too much food (even for 40 people!), so we had a lot of leftovers. Fortunately people took some home (most of the cake!).
So I was back at work yesterday. I ate a healthy breakfast and packed a healthy lunch. I had a leftover burger and corn for dinner and then DH and I took a 45 min. walk on the greenway with the dogs. We went to a different location and it was really nice! DD#1 came home with some pizza and of course I ate some (after having a piece of cake) - so that blew my "back on track day"!
Today I'm determined to stay on course. All 3 of my girls are gone - DD#1 left today for a 10 day trip to Arizona with my oldest sister who used to live in Flagstaff, AZ and still has a lot of friends there. It's a graduation present from my sister and her husband and she is very excited! DD#2 left yesterday for basketball camp in Nashville, TN and will be back Thursday night. DD#3 is in Florida with a friend and will also be back Thursday night!
DH and I were going to have a "date night" and go to dinner, but I still feel yucky after eating that pizza/cake last night, so I think we'll just walk again and pick up some salads!
Even though I know I'll have a gain on Wednesday, I'm still going to WW and "face the music". My middle sister and I will also do our weekly hike after the meeting.
I'm determined to make some goals for June. I started off today thinking that I'll cut down on the carbs to get rid of some of these cravings. I'm going to do a "no sweet" week (starting today) and also no crackers/chips and go light on the breads.
So that's my goal for this week. I'll get plenty of exercise and I'm also going to dust off the Coach Nicole DVD and do it tomorrow morning since I don't have to get up as early!
Here's to getting back "on course"!
Picture #1 = DD#1's confirmation (DD#2 is the tall one, DD#1 is in the cream colored dress and DD#3 is the alter server in the robe, I'm in the blue dress and the other girl is DD#2's BF. Also pictured is my amazing Mom & Dad and DH),
#2 - Baby Kate and #3 - kayaking (I'm in front) at the graduation party. I don't have pictures yet of DD#1's graduation because I'm waiting for my sister to send to me (DH and I don't take pictures!).
