Early morning walk to make up for feeling yucky yesterday.

Saturday, May 31, 2014

Yesterday was not a good day for me. My arthritis was acting up badly. It sort of started on Thursday as I noticed on my evening walk that my right knee and hip were giving me pain with every step. I took 2 Ibuprofen yesterday even though I am not suppose to due to kidney dysfunction from Lupus. Tylenol does nothing for this type of pain, as I could take 12 pills without relief. I just took it easy all day and did not reach my step goals. Sometimes a lady got a do, what a lady has to do to get by.

Set my alarm this morning for 6:30am but woke just b4 the alarm went off. Got up, took my morning meds and was off and walking by 6:46am. There was not breeze to speak of but being so early the air was still cool. Also being Saturday there wasn't a lot of traffic to worry about and only had to wait at one light signal (well I keep moving while I wait but you all get my drift). I was lucky with the other signals and hit them all green. emoticon

My charity walk for arthritis is tomorrow morning. I need to be down at Angel Stadium around 6:30am and they start checking us in @ 7am. I will meet up with other team members at the team tent. There looks to be over 51 people on our team from what I could figure out from the site the other day, this includes my Rheumatologist plus some other doctors from St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton, CA. There will food trucks, booths and some type of entertainment from 10am - 1pm. It should be a fun morning. We get to walk on the baseball field and see our self on the jumbo tron. I have always loved going to see both the Angel's and Dodgers, wondered what it would be like to be able to be on the field looking into the stands.

I hope to take some pictures and maybe figure out (finally) how to download them to this newer computer I got for Xmas. Hopefully I will be able to share my experience. emoticon

So sorry about the pain :(( I am surprised you are on just OTC painkillers for your disease. Is there nothing that helps control the disease that won't affect your kidneys?
Hope you can enjoy your walk tomorrow!
Look forward to your photos!

So sorry about the knee pain. It does hinder one's ability to walk for sure. Sounds like you will have a fun day tomorrow. I will be thinking about you as you walk and hope to see some pictures in the future!!
