Challenges - Have They Been a Good Thing for Me?

As a member of a challenge that has been held on the RV Enthusiasts team, I was asked to write a blog about my thoughts concerning challenges.
I have been a Sparkmember almost 4 years. I joined the RV Enthusiasts team fairly early on, and it was their challenges that I began with. The team approaches challenges as they do RVing - with gusto! I really think that the challenges through this team were the primary motivation for my weight loss, almost 90 pounds. When I would get lackadaisical with myself, their encouragement and/or the thought of needing to help my team out would keep me from going off my plan for very long. I don't work for perfection; I am a more moderate kind of gal and it is the meals/days on end off plan that ruin me.
My 5% Challenges friends and my BLC23 and BLC24 friends are also to be commended. I got out of my comfort zone when I participated in these challenges, and that was a good thing as well.
If you haven't done a challenge with a team, you might consider it. I am fairly self-motivated, but yet the cheering section from the challenge teams helped. If you participate in one where your or their personality doesn't quite fit, just learn what you can from it, and find another one after awhile. This is all about YOU, and you have to do what works for YOU!
