The Big C

Friday, May 30, 2014

My sister just dropped the C bombshell. She has been diagnosed with stage 3 endometreal cancer. She is 58 and single with rocky relationships with her children. I will be with her Thursday for a radical hysterectomy and then we will find out what other treatment might be recommended. She is already telling me that she will refuse chemo or radiation. I am prepared to do some verbal battle with her but it will ultimately be her decision. Hopefully the doctor will be able to get it all in surgery so the other treatments will not be necessary.

I am sorry to read this about your sister. I am sure you are devastated. Maybe after her initial shock she will listen to you and realize it is best to fight and certainly not give up.

Sorry to hear about your sister, my hubby turned down chemo after he had half his bowel removed with cancer and that was 7 years ago and he is still with us, as you say it is there decision and hubby just flatly refused to take it.

I am so sorry to hear this. There have been so many medical advances when it comes to cancer. I hope you can talk her into fighting for her life! Best of luck to both of you as you deal with this together! emoticon

The big C is such a devastating diagnosis. I will be praying for your sister, and for strength for you and the rest of her family. Also healing for the relationship she has with her children. I pray the surgeon gets it all and no further treatment will be necessary. emoticon emoticon

I'm praying for your sister. That is such a nasty word to hear. I hope that they get it all in the surgery too.
