After a plateau, the scale is finally moving again. So far, I've lost 23 pounds in 1 1/2 years. I'm almost at a healthy BMI now, just about 6 pounds more. My goal is to lose 13 more pounds, then I'll be at my target weight.
I've finally been healthy for a while, after the series of colds in the winter. I started a new habit of walking during my lunch break. I call my dad during that time, and that works out really well; that way, I don't get bored or think about stopping. I've also been swimming a lot, and that helps.
My blood sugars are finally under control again. I had to increase my meds for a while, but now I'm ready to cut down. I actually had low sugars a few times, and that's a good sign. My ultimate goal is to wean off the diabetes meds altogether and just control it with diet and exercise. I've come so far, I'm sure I can do it.
