One of my emoticons posed this question in one of my team threads: AND--I am very curious to hear YOUR responses to this. I have been tweaking my program for the past couple of months. Just like my sparkfriend, I am working on finding the right combination for ME, however, I would LOVE to hear about what works for YOU!

Whether you are trying to lose weight, or if you are in maintenance mode, what things are you doing now or have done in the past to help you lose weight? Any suggestions, ideas or experiences you would like to share would be appreciated.

**NOTE- I know that each one of us are different, and what works for some, may not work for others. However, sometimes taking pieces of each other's successes helps us find things that work in our own healthy journeys!

    I find that I have to change things up every few months. That might mean a different mix of foods, a new exercise, or a new focus. Currently I am:

Eating 1200-1500 calories a day
40/30/30 carbs, fats, proteins
Carb, essential fat, protein at each meal
2-3 small snacks a day
Approx. 30 grams of fiber
Approx 1500 mg of sodium

I track all my food every day and I get well over 400 minutes of exercise a week.

    Making sure I eat breakfast every morning and making sure I exercise every day.

    Eating regularly - about every 3-4 hours. That way I am never hungry.

Also I always eat from 3 food groups and ALWAYS some protein.

    I've been in maintenance for a few years now, and one thing I have learned is that it takes as much dedication as losing weight does. One of the keys to that is being open to change, sometimes, things stop working, or don't work as well as they use to for me, so I have to occasionally tweak my program and make adjustments.

I've had health problems come up in that time too; a recurrence of cancer and a diagnosis of gastroparesis, but I didn't let those things derail me. I did my research, (including learning what other Sparkers with my conditions coped) and found ways to work around my issues.

    Reducing my carbs - not low carb per say, but eating at least one meal per day without rice, bread, potatoes etc
