Time to Get Focused!

Tuesday, May 20, 2014

I really need to get to this if I want to see results! I have been all over the place lately without having a definite plan. Or if I have a plan I don't stick with it, like I should be.

I need to make it become a habit...because I get so off track. I know in my last blog, I was talking about working out to hit a certain calorie burn each day...well I think I need to take steps and work up to that.

This sounds super simple...but here are my starting steps.

I wasn't tracking my calories...because for the most part i eat fairly healthy...but I decided to start tracking in an unconventional way. I really don't like having to count calories everyday, so i came up with a breakfast and lunch and snack that i'm going to eat the same EVERY DAY until I get sick of it. Then I will make supper to have with my family and track those each day.

Then bright and early at 6 a.m. I plan on doing free weights for 15 minutes...switching between upper and lower days.

After each main meal I plan on walking/running up and down our super long driveway for 10 minutes. For a total of 30 minutes of walk/running a day.

Those are going to be my main focus exercises, my habitual exercises...like brushing my teeth and washing my face.

Anything after that is an awesome bonus! I plan on using relaxation yoga when I can fit it in too...and going for longer walks with my kids....but for the most part the plan above is going to be my core outline for my week.

I'm going to make a streak out of this plan! Happy Sparking Everyone! :)

You can do it, Jamie! It is hard to stay focused at times especially when you're a mom & you already have so much going on in your life but you NEED to make taking care of yourself a priority! The plan you've listed is doable & it is a great start to a healthier lifestyle! Start there & add more as you feel you are ready! In order to change your body & your way of thinking for the long run, you need to do today what you can feel comfortable doing everyday forever! Do what feels right to you, nothing more, nothing less! If you follow your heart, you will never go wrong!

That is also awesome that you are tracking your calories now! Personally, I love tracking my food just to see what the deficit is when my workouts are factored in!

I know that you CAN & WILL reach your goals! Just be patient & don't give up on your dreams! You will get there with time! Everyday brings you one step closer!

Stay Positive,

Jes

That is a wonderful idea. I did something similar for the first two weeks to make it easier to get into the swing of things. Having the same set thing keeps my brain from hurting. I didn't track at all and now that I am it is amazing just how over my thinking was. I ate a burnt peanut and was shocked when I saw that one is 15 calories. OMG So needless to say those are now my hubby's because I could eat a pound all at once.

Isn't it crazy how we have no problem brushing our teeth or taking a shower every day, but other things are just killer to remember?

I think you have a great plan and I know you can make this work!!

Sounds like an excellent plan - I have a smoothie for breakfast every workday and put the variations in my recipe box so I can just add whichever I make to the tracker.
Here's to eating and exercising!

You sound a lot like me!

Good luck girl! And remember, it takes 21 days to make a habit!

Sounds like an awesome plan to me! Even though I eat the same things everyday (I am a creature of habit-lol) I still track for accountability. Let me know how your progress is coming!

I found that for me when I was trying to do too much at once it overwhelmed me. I then made a plan and just added one change at a time until I was comfortable with that then added another one. Good luck! emoticon
