Yesterday was my first 5k...the Color Me Rad in Doswell, VA.
I got up at 4am and got ready, left my house at 4:30 and was at Kings Dominion at 6. My friend, Jamie, her husband, Kim, and their little man, Ben, met me there. We were in the last wave to go. I started out jogging for a couple of minutes but then I had a horrible pain in my foot so we had to walk. Jamie's watch said we did it in 43 mins but I think it was more like 50. The CMR doesn't do time so we had to do it on our own. My main 2 goals were to 1.) Just do my 1st 5k and 2.) Not finish last! It was amazing and exhilarating and I am hooked! I want to do another one!!!
When I got home from that, I had to get Chloe, Noah, and Eli all ready to go for their recital. My daughter dances and my boys do Tae Kwon Do.
Chloe danced beautifully and my boys (ages 5 & 7) did awesome....Eli, the 5 year old, BROKE HIS 1st BOARD ON STAGE LAST NIGHT!!!!!! Noah also broke his board but he has broken boards a couple times before! TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!
Even more awesome news....I am down 9lbs from last week!!! What?!?! I know, exciting right????? All I did was start watching what I ate and even allowed myself to eat (in moderation) what I wanted this weekend. I read on someone's blog and I can't remember who that you should eat what you are going to eat when you are done losing weight because if you don't, then its just a diet instead of a lifestyle change. So its a learning process. I worked an 8 day stretch at work with no days off but I still watched what I ate and tried hard to do no sodas. Im drinking 1 now because I just want one. But I drank a ton of Vitamin Water Zeros and tea. I ate lots of smart ones and a yogurt for lunch and if I didn't do that then I went to chik fil a and got a grilled chicken sandwich, with a slice of cheese (because I don't like it without), and a sweet tea. No fries.
