Weekend at last

Saturday, May 17, 2014

Ralph went in for a procedure yesterday, he had 2 tumors removed. Poor guy is still feeling pretty miserable today. Hopefully as the day goes on he will get back to being himself again. He put himself to bed last night at 7 pm in our bed. Poor baby man, I hate seeing my dogs get older. Scott and I got Ralph just a few days after we got our first apartment together back in 2005. He just turned 9.

I finally got my sunflower seeds in the ground yesterday. I kept collecting more packets that I wanted to plant. Our yard is mostly shade and sunflowers need full sun. Yet another experimental year. Hopefully I get something, we shall see.

This winter was so rough on plants. I killed 3 of my dads bonsai's, ughhh I am so sick about it. One of which I bought for him about 3 years and every time I went over to his house he showed me how well it was shaping up, a baby olive tree. So angry with myself. I should have let his bonsai ppl have them. I was too selfish to do that. I found homes for his kitties and his torts. I can't beat myself up over everything, I just feel like I failed him.

Eating has not been stellar. But at least I have been cooking at home more this week. I don't think I have eaten out in a week or gotten take out. I have been craving way more meat than I usually do. Yesterday I got the fixingings for hamburgers and I also bought a roast. I usually hardly eat beef but lately be dreaming of beef jerky lol Husband is not complaining in the least.

I have been to my dance class 5 days this week with 3 different teachers. I remember I always thought when I got pregnant I would wear a HRM during workouts and watch my hr closely. I have not, all my hr watches are falling apart from using them as actual watches. Oh well I think I can gauge it just fine. I stand upfront if I get overheated, I can put the fan on myself or simply slow down. My teacher put the fan on me earlier this week, she must have been worried I wont have if I needed it haha I usually hate cold air blowing on me while working out. I would rather sweat. But this is a different story, I will turn to my friend the fan and water.

This series of images of how some foods we eat grow is neat. I had no idea how treacherous a field of pineapple were. Makes me feel guilty for eating so many. oh btw if you have an aldi close avocados are 10 cents this week and mangos are 49 cents.

Poor Ralph. It sounds like he knows what he needs though if he went to bed early. It must be the time for pets to have surgery. My vet was booked and we had to take Porkie to him for dental surgery. He is doing okay.

We have grown sunflowers before too. Love the plants. We have a grower here who grows a huger field of them and we love to see them every year. He sells them really cheap.

I don't feel that you let your dad down. It's hard to move well established plants and have them survive. I kept some of my mom's plants alive for a few years and still have one of my MIL's plants alive but the ones who lived are those that are supposed to be difficult to kill. Anything that requires any real skill I don't do well with. I don't have much success with indoor plants as we don't have enough light.

My husband loves too and I like it more than I used to. I like chicken less though. LOL.

I love Alids. My son doesn't have one close by - I feel sorry for him. He has a Sav-A-Lot and a Rulers but I love Aldis.

Aww! Poor Ralph! I hope he heals quickly! It looks like you'll have a great sunflower garden. This was a rough winter...so harsh...that is a bummer about the Bonsai and olive tree but maybe think of it as you were preparing yourself for the baby and your Dad would have wanted you to take it easy so maybe it will even out in the end. Try not to beat yourself up though! Great job on not eating out and working out! You are awesome! Your baby will come out a Tiny Dancer ;-)!

Poor puppy - hope he's feeling better by now!

And it sounds like your body is telling you it needs iron, craving all that beef - Don't you think so?
