As there was a list made to DO with Head Hunger..the suggestion is to make a list of actions to take instead with Heart Hunger. I honestly feel if you are dealing with Heart Hunger...you need more than with Head Hunger.
If you build a list that overlaps..thas ok..if it is an action that helps you deal with the craving then that is a good thing.There is a long list of actions..instead of listing them I would just suggest you think about what you do that cheers you up or helps you take your mind off of eating That Food!
Today while going about my day I was putting some things away in the kitchen. I opened the cabinet to tuck in the granola & there in my face was the chips. Now I had not thought of chips...I did not even crave chips..but once I saw the package ~~~ it was like "I want salty treat"!! If I were a pup I would have been sitting up & begging!!
Yep that woulda been me!!! I closed the cabinet quickly...then stopped to think...WHY did I all of a sudden want those chips so badly? Head Hunger..yeah I reckon..see it...want it...
certainly did not need it for fuel ...or comfort...just the visualization made me almost taste those chips!!! I need to join FAA ( food addicts anon)..geeeeeze!!
Back to what to do..instead...
with candles & music...
,,put on some rocking tunes & DANCE that mood away!
The list goes on ..however I think each of us knows what will pull us out of a funk...a mood..or just a craving..so we need to stop..think will this fix things..will it make things better in the LONG run..not just for the moment!
then if we decide we MUST have that food...go ahead with the idea in your head that it is this one time only & then back on track. If we do not everynow & then let ourselves give we will stretch ourselves to the breaking point!!
